CAMPS IN SPANISH FOR SCHOOLSI· BASIC INFORMATIONS ABOUT CAMP:
Spanish Course
Educamp of your choice + 10 hours of language classes combined with thematic sessions according to the Educamp choice. The language classes will be given in the mornings and will be focussed on the vocabulary that the participants will need during the activities of that day.
The content will be adapted to the general level of the participants.
At the end of the Educamp the participants will have gained a higher level of understanding and communication, and they will have increased their awareness of the social topic related to their camp.
Is this camp a suitable activity for my students?
If your curriculum includes SPANISH and you are looking for an experiential learning approach, this is an ideal activity for the young people you work with. Educamps are characterised by its innovative combination of practical workshops on a specific SOCIAL TOPIC of your preference and SPANISH CLASSES. Language workshops will be given by our foreign language teachers, who will help students with the vocabulary needed for the afternoon sessions. The programme includes options for additional recreational and cultural activities, such as sightseeing trips to nearby cities, hiking, adventure parks visits, swimming in natural river pools, and canoeing. These activities will vary according to your preferences and the season.

WHO ARE WE?
AJS Association is a non-profit organisation with more than 10 years’ experience working with young people from all over Europe. Our aims are: to promote active citizenship among young people, to develop critical and creative ways of thinking, to encourage a sense of initiative and entrepreneurship, and to facilitate communication in foreign languages within an intercultural context. Through these aims we contribute at the same time to the development of rural comunities in the Avila province.
WHAT MAKES OUR STAFF DIFFERENT?

- All of our trainers have experience in Educational Camps abroad.
We speak the following languages:
Spanish, German, Portuguese, French, Polish, English, Dutch.
·THE NON-FORMAL APPROACH
All programmes are based on the principles of non-formal education:
· The trainer takes a learner-centered approach, providing support and motivating the learner to learn.
· Activities are designed to develop a young person’s competencies, which include skills, knowledge and attitudes.
· The responsibility for learning is shared between the participants and the trainer/s, respecting the experience and perspective of everyone taking part, encouraging active participation and knowledge sharing.
· Flexibility, allowing the trainer to adapt the lesson to respond to participants’ aptitudes and understanding.
III· ORGANIZATION AND PRATICAL DETAILS
Where are we?
In the beautiful mountain town of
Arenas de San Pedro,
situated in the Tiétar Valley in the center of Spain,
barely two hours away from Madrid.
Duration of the camp
7 days focused between development, education and, of course, the entertainment of young people.
What about accommodation, board and lodging?
Students will be accommodated with local families in single or double rooms. Board includes three meals per activity day. Dinner on the first day and breakfast on the last one are also included in the price. If requested, special dietary requirements (vegetarian, halal, vegan) can be accommodated upon request.
Optionally for the whole group,
it is possible to choose accommodation in the nearby hotel.
